Dr. Luis Capitán
Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with MIR training at the University Hospital of Granada.
Born in Granada in 1976, Dr. Capitán graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Granada in 2000; he obtained the title of specialist, via MIR, in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2006, after five years of training at the Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital in Granada. He studied his third cycle in Tissue Engineering, obtaining his doctorate cum laude from the University of Granada in 2006, taking his first steps in the specialty of orthognathic and craniofacial surgery.
He has worked at the Institute of Maxillofacial Surgery and Implantology of the Teknon Clinic in Barcelona, together with Dr. Hernández Alfaro, and at the Craniofacial Surgery and Dentofacial Deformities Unit of Morriston University Hospital in Wales (United Kingdom), together with Professor Adrian Sugar. Both experiences contributed to his high specialization in this field.
Since 2007 he has directed the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Unit at the USP Hospital in Marbella. In recent years he has focused his specialization on bone sculpture and facial feminization surgery, a discipline he has carried out in more than 300 procedures, developing new techniques. Dr. Capitán has directed the Maxillofacial Department of Ocean Clinic Marbella since January 2012. He is also one of the founders of Facial Team Europe, where he offers in collaboration with Dr. Kaye an integrated and unique concept for patients who want facial feminization surgery, combining maxillofacial surgery techniques with plastic surgery techniques to offer exceptional results.
Dr. Capitán has directed the Maxillofacial Department of Ocean Clinic Marbella since January 2012.
Dr. Capitán is a member of the Spanish Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (SECOM) and the European Society of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery (EACMFS).
